I must say, this whole sequence does make the prof a bit more interesting. I’m surprised he wasn’t angry at Any for probing into his past like that. Perhaps he decided she was worth trusting.
The Professor might feel the need to finally opening up to someone. He might even want Any to know what’s deep in his mind. Or he doesn’t want to risk her being upset if he blocks her again…
Well, there’s always some baggage when you get into a new relationship. This is pretty heavy. But, of course, Any’s young and infatuated. She’ll think that “together we can overcome everything!”
And maybe she’s right. I hope so.
I thought for a second that the Prof was using her-letting her see why he’s so driven to get her to side with him- but I think he really needs her as a lover, a friend, and a partner. He may be driven by sorrow and revenge, but he’s still a person after all.
Which you made very clear with these pages, Betty. You’ve done a great job with setting the mood and making us see these two as real people.

That’s a trippy thing to find in your lover’s head, alright. She takes it well, though. As well as you could expect. I just wonder how damaged this whole thing has left the prof.
