   I know I’m at the beginning of a large archive, but I always have preferred word balloons with tails leading towards the speaker’s mouth. Makes it easier to know who is talking.

   Danie and I experimented with fonts and balloons for a while. Then we embraced the traditional approach.

   I think the page reads fine. It was clear for me who was talking. Tails are fine, but if you don’t need them to make things clearer, why bother?

     We experimented with both. I believe readers are used to seeing tails… This page reads fine, though.
